Vermont wildlife officials ask deer hunters to report sightings
Original: Fish & Wildlife asks deer hunters to report wildlife sightings
The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department is asking deer hunters to report any wildlife sightings they observe while out hunting this season. Officials want hunters to log animals such as turkeys, bears, moose and other species they encounter, as hunters spend extensive time in the field and can provide valuable data on wildlife distribution and populations across the state.
Why now: Deer season is underway, giving hunters a chance to contribute useful wildlife survey data to state biologists.
