Vela Debuts as a New Linux Desktop Environment

Original: Show HN: Vela, a New Linux Desktop Environment

Developer BrandoDev_it has released Vela 0.1, a new desktop environment for Linux, announcing it on Hacker News where it reached the front page. The project launched with an early version and a blog post at velade.org. With few details beyond the 0.1 release, commenters are likely weighing what Vela offers against established environments like GNOME and KDE.

Why now: New desktop environments are rare, so a fresh 0.1 release naturally draws curiosity and debate among Linux users.
