Computer Science Programs Lose Students as AI Replaces Jobs
Bloomberg reports that university computer science degree programs are seeing declining enrollment as artificial intelligence tools automate entry-level programming work. Students are increasingly questioning whether a computer science degree still guarantees a career, and some are shifting to other fields. The report has sparked debate about the long-term value of tech education as AI reshapes the job market for software developers.
Why now: AI's rapid impact on entry-level tech jobs is raising fresh doubts about whether computer science degrees remain worth pursuing.
