Serbia elects parliament with unusually high share of scientists
Original: Serbia just elected the world's brainiest parliament
Serbia's newly elected parliament is being called the brainiest in the world, reportedly because an unusually large share of its members hold advanced scientific qualifications or work in science-related fields. The claim was reported by Science, and commentators are debating how many scientists actually sit in the new assembly and what that means for policymaking.
Why now: A major science journal profiled Serbia's new legislature as exceptionally full of scientists, sparking curiosity and debate.
