Satellite Tracking of Bats in Myanmar
The Smithsonian's National Zoo has reported on a project using satellite tracking to follow bats in Myanmar. The effort aims to shed light on bat movements, habitats and behaviour, data that can inform conservation work and research on wildlife-borne disease. Details beyond the headline remain limited, so the project's scope and findings are not yet clear.
Why now: The National Zoo's reporting on the tracking project is drawing attention to bat research and conservation in Myanmar.
