Could Munich host the Olympics again?
Original: Olympics in Munich? How fit is the Olympic Park? | Focus TV Reportage
A new documentary examines whether Munich's Olympic Park is fit to stage another Olympic Games, more than 50 years after the 1972 Summer Olympics were held there. The report assesses the condition of the ageing stadium and surrounding facilities, and weighs whether the site could support a renewed bid. It feeds into a wider German debate over bringing the Games back to the country.
Why now: Renewed public and political debate in Germany about a possible Munich Olympic bid has put the future of the Olympic Park back in the spotlight.
