Original: Baylor fires football coach Dave Aranda after brutal loss to Kansas

Baylor University has dismissed head football coach Dave Aranda following a heavy defeat to Kansas. Aranda, who led the Bears since 2020 and delivered a Big 12 championship in 2021, had struggled to sustain that success in recent seasons. The firing, reported by the New York Post, comes amid mounting pressure on the program after a disappointing stretch of results.

Why now: A high-profile Power Four coaching dismissal right after a damaging loss is major news for college football fans.
