Picasa Photo Viewer Rebuilt for Linux as Licasa
Original: Picasa Photo Viewer Rebuilt for Linux, Project Named Licasa
A developer has released Licasa, a project rebuilding Google's discontinued Picasa photo viewer for Linux, with code published on GitHub. Picasa was shut down in 2016, and Linux users lost a lightweight, fast image viewer many still miss. The project is drawing attention among developers and open-source enthusiasts nostalgic for the classic tool, though it remains a community effort not affiliated with Google.
Why now: Nostalgia for the discontinued Picasa software and interest in a new open-source Linux port are driving discussion.
