Russian governor decries strike on Iskander missile plant timing

A Russian regional governor accused Ukraine of "particular cynicism" after a strike hit a plant producing Iskander ballistic missiles at around 6 PM, when workers were leaving their shift. Critics of the statement note the irony of demanding that a weapons factory be spared outside working hours, arguing that producing missiles for strikes on Ukraine makes the facility a legitimate target at any time of day.

Why now: The accusation of cynicism over the strike's timing is being widely mocked as an attempt to shield a weapons plant from attack.

Evidence

• A Russian governor accused Ukraine of "particular cynicism" for bombing an Iskander missile plant at 6 PM because workers were heading home. If a ballistic missile factory is off-limits when the shift ends, Russia expects total war to keep office hours. 1/ · actfast · 6.1K
