Burglars in Spain reportedly use threads on doorframes to spot empty homes
Original: Burglars in Spain use thin, almost invisible threads on doorframes to check if homes are empty.
A claim circulating online warns that burglars in Spain place thin, nearly invisible threads on doorframes: if a homeowner opens the door without noticing, the thread breaks, signalling nobody has checked the entrance and the home may be empty. The tactic is being widely shared as a caution for residents to check their doorframes and stay alert.
Why now: A practical home-security warning is spreading as people share tips on how to spot the trick.
