Singapore considers legal action over Indonesian haze
Original: It happens year after year. One time it was so bad I just went to Phuket. It’s intolerable and testament to how hard it
Singapore is eyeing legal action against Indonesia as smoke from Indonesian fires once again chokes the region, pushing air quality to among the world's worst. Commentators express frustration that the haze recurs every year, with one recalling escaping to Phuket during a particularly bad episode, calling the situation intolerable and proof of how difficult it is for Indonesia to change.
Why now: Annual Indonesian forest fires are again causing severe haze across Singapore, revelling frustration and talk of legal action.
