Original: Do not be distracted by global crises. Nature cannot wait for a better year – we must act now | Steven Guilbeault https:
Canadian politician and environmentalist Steven Guilbeault has written an opinion piece in the Guardian urging governments not to let wars, economic turmoil and other global crises push nature protection down the agenda. He argues that biodiversity loss and climate change cannot be postponed to a better year, and that action must continue now despite competing international pressures.
Why now: A prominent environmental advocate's warning about climate and nature being sidelined amid mounting global crises has struck a chord with readers and is being shared widely.
