JAXA holds press conference after MMX launch on H3 rocket

Original: Post-Launch Press Conference : Martian Moons eXploration (MMX) spacecraft/H3 Launch Vehicle No.10

Japan's space agency JAXA held a post-launch press conference for the Martian Moons eXploration (MMX) spacecraft, which lifted off aboard the H3 Launch Vehicle No.10. The mission aims to return samples from Mars' moon Phobos. Attention is focused on both the spacecraft's journey to Mars and the performance of the H3 rocket, which has had a troubled development history.

Why now: The launch marks a major milestone for Japan's space programme and a key test of the H3 rocket after its earlier failures.
