Volunteers dress as animals to save their river
Original: Volunteers became salmon, deer and earthworms. Then they set out to save their river
Volunteers costumed themselves as salmon, deer and earthworms as part of a creative campaign to protect a local river. By embodying the wildlife that depends on the waterway, the group drew attention to the ecosystem at risk and then moved into practical action to restore and defend it.
Why now: The imaginative costumed protest is an unusual and eye-catching way of rallying support for river conservation.
