A developer has released CallSitter, an open-source tool that automatically answers phone calls and keeps phone scammers on the line, wasting their time instead of the user's. The project, shared on Hacker News and hosted on GitHub, is drawing attention for its practical take on blocking spam calls and turning the tables on fraud callers.
Why now: Spam and scam calls are a widespread annoyance, and a free open-source tool that fights back resonates with many people.
