White House ordered Starlink restrictions in Ukraine, Reuters reports
Original: Reuters: White House ordered restrictions on Starlink Ukraine
A Reuters report says the order to limit Starlink and Starshield access for Ukraine came from inside the White House, according to sources. The claim puts the decision at the presidential level rather than with the Pentagon or SpaceX, and is drawing attention because Starlink connectivity is critical to Ukrainian battlefield communications amid the ongoing war with Russia.
Why now: Restrictions on a service vital to Ukraine's war effort, reportedly ordered at the highest level of the US government, raise major foreign policy questions.
