White House ordered Starlink restrictions in Ukraine, Reuters reports
Original: Reuters: White House ordered restrictions on Starlink Ukraine
Reuters reports that the order to limit SpaceX's Starshield (Starlink military variant) services in Ukraine originated inside the White House, citing sources. The report raises questions about the extent of US political control over battlefield satellite communications supplied to Ukraine, and is likely to fuel debate over American support for Kyiv and the influence of the administration on SpaceX's military contracts.
Why now: A fresh Reuters report implicates the White House directly in restricting critical battlefield communications for Ukraine, touching on sensitive US policy toward the war.
