Polanski post accuses 'Andy' of belated opposition, sparks debate

A social media post by Zack Polanski, shared widely on Mastodon, criticises a figure named Andy for only taking a stance 'ten years from now', comparing it to Andy Burnham's opposition to Brexit arriving long after it could have mattered. A reply echoes the point, asking whether the world changes for the better through safe, delayed positions, and concludes it does not.

Why now: Commentators are debating political figures who adopt bold positions only once it is safe to do so, with the post resonating amid current controversy.
