Air Chief Flies Tejas, Comments on F-35 Offer Ahead of Retirement

Original: वायुसेना

Outgoing Indian Air Force chief AP Singh flew the Tejas fighter jet ahead of his retirement, while also revealing that the US has made no official offer to sell F-35 jets to India. He quipped that Washington does not even let India near the F-35s, and said no decision has been taken on acquiring Russia's Su-57 either, drawing wide attention to India's fighter procurement plans.

Why now: The Air Force chief's remarks on F-35 and Su-57 procurement, combined with his Tejas flight on the eve of retirement, are newsworthy for India's defence planning.
