NATO stays quiet on electronic warfare details in nuclear drill

Original: I understand that # NATO doesn't want to reveal secret info on # ElectronicWarfare and # jamming of # GPS during the # N

NATO is holding its Steadfast Noon 2026 nuclear exercise, and officials are declining to disclose details about electronic warfare tactics and GPS jamming used during the drill. Commenters note the secrecy is understandable but point to a precedent: in 1998, a US electronic warfare aircraft on a training mission in Italy killed 20 people, raising questions about the risks of such operations near civilian areas.

Why now: The ongoing Steadfast Noon nuclear drill is drawing attention to NATO's secrecy around electronic warfare and GPS jamming, with memories of a deadly 1998 training accident resurfacing.
