Armed security personnel and heavy combat boots have been deployed across central Delhi, from Mandi House to Firoz Shah Road, ahead of a protest march toward Jantar Mantar. Critics say India, the world's largest democracy, has become so fearful of its own citizens that regular police are no longer considered sufficient, and that force is being used to crush peaceful demonstrators. Supporters of the deployment have not featured prominently in the online reaction so far.
