Apogee rebuilds Mozilla's Orbit as local, private tool
Original: Show HN: Apogee: Rebuilding Mozilla's Orbit, fully local and private
A developer has released Apogee, an open-source project that rebuilds Mozilla's discontinued Orbit tool to run fully locally and privately. The project is being shared with the developer community on GitHub, where people are discussing the revival of a tool Mozilla abandoned and the appeal of local-first alternatives that keep user data off third-party servers.
Why now: Developer communities are currently interested in local-first, privacy-respecting revivals of discontinued software tools.
