Developer rebuilds Mozilla Orbit as fully local private tool
Original: Show HN: Apogee: Rebuilding Mozilla's Orbit, fully local and private
A developer has released Apogee, an open-source project that rebuilds Mozilla's discontinued Orbit tool to run fully locally, keeping user data private. The project is shared on GitHub, and discussion is focused on the appeal of local-first alternatives to cloud services and on reviving tools Mozilla abandoned.
Why now: Tech communities are currently interested in privacy-focused, local-first replacements for discontinued services.
