Original: Umar Khalid को International Human Rights Award मिलने से फिर छिड़ी बहस | Salaam TV Original
Former JNU student leader Umar Khalid, jailed in a Delhi riots conspiracy case since 2020, has been given an International Human Rights Award. The decision has reignited a sharp political debate in India: supporters call it global recognition of his treatment, while critics argue honouring an undertrial in a serious case is inappropriate. The award has put his long-pending bail and trial back in the spotlight.
Why now: The award to a jailed activist has reignited polarised debate in India over his case and the justice system.
