Scientists use video games in MRI scanners to map prediction in the brain

Original: Video games in MRI scanners aim to map brains as they predict and adapt

Researchers are having people play video games inside MRI scanners to track how the brain predicts and adapts in real time. The approach aims to map prediction and adjustment processes more naturally than static scans, and the method is drawing attention for what it could reveal about learning and cognition.

Why now: It offers a novel, game-based way to study real-time brain function that resonates with gaming and science audiences.
