Scientists use video games in MRI scanners to map brain prediction
Original: Video games in MRI scanners aim to map brains as they predict and adapt
Researchers are placing people inside MRI scanners while they play video games, in an effort to map how the brain predicts and adapts in real time. The approach uses the games' interactive demands to observe neural responses moment by moment, offering a dynamic picture of brain function that static imaging tasks cannot capture, according to a report by Medical Xpress.
Why now: New research combines gaming with brain imaging to reveal how the brain predicts and adapts, drawing attention from science and gaming audiences.
