Temporal runs the Pi coding agent durably
Original: The immortal life of Pi (Running the Pi coding agent on Temporal)
Temporal published a blog post describing how to run the Pi coding agent on its durable execution platform, framing it as 'the immortal life of Pi'. The piece shows how the agent's workflows can survive failures and restarts by relying on Temporal's infrastructure rather than short-lived processes. Developers on Hacker News are discussing the approach, weighing the practicality of running long-lived, resilient coding agents on workflow engines.
Why now: The post is being discussed because running AI coding agents as durable, fault-tolerant workflows is a timely topic for developers.
