A once-full lake has nearly vanished after a record-breaking dry summer, with only a small patch of water remaining until just days ago. The entire exposed lakebed is now covered in dense terrestrial vegetation, showing how quickly nature reclaims the space once water disappears. Observers are highlighting the scene as a stark visual sign of drought and changing climate conditions.
Why now: Striking images of drought's tangible impact are drawing attention amid ongoing concern over record heat and water scarcity.
