Developer launches mostly-exact clone of Hacker News
Original: Show HN: Pointless but mostly-exact clone of Hacker News
A developer known online as sillysaurusx has launched a near-exact clone of Hacker News, calling the project pointless but faithful to the original, at news.ycombinator.lol. The site recreates the link aggregator's familiar minimalist look and functionality. Users on Hacker News are discussing the project on its front page, with reactions mixing amusement at its redundancy and interest in the technical work behind replicating the site.
Why now: The irony of a Hacker News clone being shared on Hacker News is drawing attention and discussion.
