Developer unveils near-exact clone of Hacker News
Original: Show HN: Pointless but mostly-exact clone of Hacker News
A developer has launched a point-for-point clone of Hacker News, the popular technology discussion forum, calling the project pointless but mostly exact. The replica reproduces the site's look and functionality, inviting curiosity and amusement from the tech community. Commenters are weighing in on why anyone would rebuild a site whose value lies largely in its community rather than its software.
Why now: The novelty of a self-declared pointless clone of a well-known tech forum is entertaining and sparks debate about what makes the original valuable.
