Trump suggests letting Iran 'take out' Los Angeles and San Diego
Original: Pres. Trump suggests letting Iran ‘take out’ Los Angeles and San Diego at campaign event
At a campaign event, President Donald Trump suggested the United States could let Iran 'take out' Los Angeles and San Diego, according to ABC7 coverage. The remark, framed around hypothetical US retaliation policy toward Iran, drew widespread attention and criticism online, with many questioning whether the comments were serious and what they implied about his approach to nuclear threats and US city defense.
Why now: A sitting president's offhand remark about allowing a hostile nation to attack major American cities is inflammatory and touches on nuclear policy during a campaign.
