Trump proposes converting West Palm Beach golf course into new Camp David
Original: Trump wants to turn his West Palm Beach golf course into the new Camp David
President Trump wants to turn his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida into a replacement for Camp David, the presidential retreat in Maryland, according to a Washington Post report. The proposal has drawn attention because Camp David has long served as the official presidential retreat, and replacing it with a Trump-owned property raises questions about the blending of his business interests with the presidency.
Why now: The idea of replacing an official presidential retreat with a property owned by the sitting president raises conflict-of-interest concerns.
