Critics are accusing UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the organisation of complicity in Israel's conduct in Gaza after Benjamin Netanyahu was invited to address the UN General Assembly. In an interview circulating online, the invitation is described as 'global cowardice and complicity displayed on the world stage', with Netanyahu portrayed as receiving a red-carpet welcome at UN headquarters while carrying out the war in Palestine.
Why now: Netanyahu's address to the UN General Assembly has reignited debate over whether the UN legitimises Israel's leadership during the Gaza war.
