Art of Elan performs Messiaen under Anza-Borrego stars
Original: Art of Elan performs ambitious Messiaen piece beneath the Anza-Borrego stars
San Diego chamber ensemble Art of Elan staged an ambitious performance of an Olivier Messiaen work in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, playing beneath the open night sky. KPBS covered the concert, which pairs the French composer's music with the dramatic desert landscape and dark-sky setting of the park.
Why now: The unusual combination of chamber music and a desert night-sky venue is drawing local attention.
