Original: SURGICAL STRIKE IN MYANMAR: India Avenges Assam Rifles Ambush In 4 days, Drones Hit NSCN-K | Kinjal
India is reported to have carried out drone strikes against NSCN-K camps in Myanmar, days after an ambush killed Assam Rifles personnel, with commentators saying the operation came within four days of the attack. The strikes are being framed as a cross-border response avenging the deaths of the soldiers. Discussion is focused on the speed of the retaliation and what it signals about India's willingness to act against insurgent groups sheltering across the Myanmar border.
Why now: Reports of a rapid Indian military retaliation against a militant group after the killing of Assam Rifles soldiers have drawn widespread attention.
