Israeli restrictions delay Gaza winter shelter materials by months
Original: Gaza: Israeli restrictions mean entry of winter shelter materials will take over seven months
The Norwegian Refugee Council says Israeli restrictions mean winter shelter materials for Gaza will take more than seven months to enter the territory. The warning comes as cold weather approaches while hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians remain in inadequate tent and makeshift shelter conditions. Aid agencies say processing and entry delays leave families exposed to winter without tarpaulins, blankets and other essentials.
Why now: Winter conditions are approaching for Gaza's displaced population, raising urgency over shelter aid delays.
