ICC delays World Club Championship after 'Big Three' objection
Original: ICC delays plans for World Club Championship after ‘Big Three’ object
The International Cricket Council has postponed plans for a proposed World Club Championship after opposition from cricket's so-called 'Big Three' nations — India, Australia and England. The delay casts doubt over the future of the tournament, which aimed to bring club and franchise teams into global competition. Officials have not set a revised timetable, and the project's prospects now look uncertain.
Why now: The ICC has just announced the delay following objections from cricket's most powerful boards, making it a fresh talking point in the sport.
