RSF-SPLM-N alliance claims advance near Blue Nile capital
Original: RSF-SPLM-N force claims advance near Blue Nile capital, army disputes push
A joint force of Sudan's Rapid Support Forces and the SPLM-N faction says it has advanced near Ad-Damazin, the capital of Blue Nile state, marking an expansion of the war into a new front. The Sudanese army has dismissed the claim, disputing that any such push took place. Both sides have issued conflicting accounts, and the situation on the ground remains difficult to verify independently.
Why now: Fighting appears to be spreading to a previously quiet region, raising concerns about further escalation of Sudan's war.
