Why you shouldn't sync your phone to a rental car
Original: Why you shouldn't sync your phone to a rental car https://www.engadget.com/2273912/why-shouldnt-sync-phone-to-rental-car
Engadget warns drivers against pairing their phones with rental cars, as syncing can copy contacts, messages, call logs and other personal data onto the vehicle's system, which may remain accessible to future drivers. The advice is to connect only temporarily or use Bluetooth for calls without full sync, and to delete your phone's profile before returning the car.
Why now: Renewed concern about privacy and data security when using rented vehicles.
