More than 1,200 high school students in Colorado have earned a new climate studies seal on their diplomas, recognizing coursework and projects on climate change. Supporters say the credential reflects a generation determined to prepare for environmental challenges, with students framing it as a response to the world they are inheriting. The program is being highlighted as a model for climate education in US schools.
Why now: The milestone number of students earning the credential is drawing attention to climate education programs in American schools.
