Archival photographs from May 1959 showing a wolf at Skansen zoo in Stockholm, Sweden, have been shared online. The images come from the photographic archive of American photographer Nick DeWolf, digitised as part of an ongoing project by the Nick DeWolf Foundation, which welcomes image-use requests. The pictures offer a glimpse of the historic Stockholm zoo and its animals more than six decades ago.
Why now: The digitised Nick DeWolf archive regularly surfaces evocative mid-century photographs that attract nostalgia and historical interest.
