Original: More than 1,200 Colorado students have earned a climate ‘seal’: ‘We’re the ones growing up in this world’
More than 1,200 students in Colorado have earned a climate seal on their diplomas, a credential recognising coursework and projects on climate science and solutions. Students say the programme reflects their stake in the future, with one quoted saying 'We're the ones growing up in this world'. The initiative highlights growing efforts to bring climate education into mainstream schooling and student demand for climate literacy.
Why now: Climate education in schools is a live topic, and a large cohort earning the credential is a fresh, positive development.
