Andy Carroll names Fame Academy's Kevin Adams as childhood abuser

Original: Andy Carroll names Fame Academy star Kevin Adams as man who sexually abused him https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/an

Footballer Andy Carroll has publicly named Kevin Adams, a teacher who appeared on the TV show Fame Academy, as the man who sexually abused him. The naming follows earlier abuse claims in which Carroll had described his abuser without identifying him. The allegation has drawn wide attention because of Adams's public profile from the BBC series, and it puts a prominent figure at the centre of a historical sexual abuse case.

Why now: A famous footballer naming his abuser as a former reality TV personality makes a private trauma a major public news story.
