Mourners at Al-Shifa Hospital mistake Quran for phone

Original: 🗨️ Note: What the man is holding in his hands there is not a smartphone, but the pocket edition of the Holy Quran ⚠️ Vie

A clarification circulating online notes that a man photographed at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City was holding a pocket edition of the Holy Quran, not a smartphone. The image shows Palestinians bidding farewell to the bodies of victims killed in an Israeli airstrike. The correction matters because viewers assumed the object was a phone, changing the perceived tone of the mourning scene.

Why now: The photo is being shared widely from the Gaza conflict, and the mistaken identity of the object sparked correction and discussion.
