Aadhaar birth date change rules to get stricter from October 15
Original: आधार
New rules are expected to make changing one's date of birth on an Aadhaar card significantly stricter, with the updated system likely to take effect from October 15. The move, reported in Uttar Pradesh, aims to curb repeated date-of-birth changes. Aadhaar users may face tighter documentation requirements when seeking corrections, and residents are being advised to check the new guidelines before applying for such updates.
Why now: Aadhaar is central to identity verification for hundreds of millions of Indians, so tightened rules on birth date changes directly affect many people.
