A music lover in Germany dug an old turntable out of storage, connected it to speakers, wiped away the dust and dropped the needle on old records for the first time in years. The first three records in the stack were by Pink Floyd, and the moment of hearing them again was described as something close to holy. The small ritual struck a chord as a sentimental piece of time travel through music.

Why now: Nostalgia for vinyl and the ritual of playing old records resonates widely right now as physical media enjoys a revival.
