Rasmussen takes no-hitter into eighth as Rays stifle Yankees
Original: Rasmussen -- the 'definition of ace' -- takes no-no into 8th as Rays 1-hit Yankees
Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Drew Rasmussen came within three outs of a no-hitter against the New York Yankees, holding them hitless into the eighth inning before the bid ended. The Rays still won comfortably, limiting New York to one hit in total. Fans and commentators praised the right-hander, with some calling him the definition of an ace after the dominant outing.
Why now: A near no-hitter against a high-profile rival is one of the biggest single-game storylines in baseball.
