Original: chris richards
Mexico's Santiago Gimenez is under fire after missing an open goal against the United States, firing wide with the net unguarded. Mexican outlets including TV Azteca, Excelsior and Record highlighted the blunder and his angry reaction, while the US squad also celebrated as Borussia Dortmund youngster Mathis Albert became the youngest-ever USMNT goalscorer in a 4-2 win over Chile, surpassing Christian Pulisic's record.
Why now: Mexico and US national team matches always draw huge attention, and a glaring miss plus a historic USMNT scoring record gave fans plenty to debate.
