Italy political news compared to 1933 in viral warning
Original: The news out of Italy is frightening. It really is 1933. Except this time we are Germany. For fuck’s sake #VOTE #INeverF
Actress Ellen Barkin issued a stark warning comparing current political developments in Italy to Germany in 1933, the year the Nazis came to power, saying the frightening difference is that this time the United States is in Germany's position. She urged people to vote and said she never forgot, echoing concerns that far-right movements are gaining ground and history could repeat itself.
Why now: Far-right political gains in Italy have reignited historical comparisons to the rise of fascism in Europe.
