Environmental groups urge EPA to keep wetland protections
Original: Tell the EPA: Don’t strip wetland protections
Environment America is calling on the public to tell the Environmental Protection Agency not to strip federal protections for wetlands. The campaign asks supporters to submit comments opposing any rollback of rules that safeguard wetlands, which filter water, store floodwater and provide wildlife habitat. It comes amid ongoing pressure to narrow the scope of waters covered by federal clean water rules.
Why now: The EPA is weighing changes to wetland protections, prompting advocacy campaigns ahead of public comment.
